Terms of Service

01 Acceptance of terms

By creating an account, submitting a cohort application, starting an assessment attempt, or otherwise using any part of the Services, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms, as updated from time to time. If you are using the Services on behalf of an organization, you represent that you have the authority to bind that organization to these Terms.

02 Eligibility

You must be at least 16 years old to use the Services. By using the Services, you represent that you meet this requirement and that you are legally permitted to enter into a binding agreement in your jurisdiction. Admission to a Trafy cohort is subject to a separate review process and is not guaranteed by submitting an application or completing an assessment.

03 The services

Trafy provides:

• A marketing and information website describing the Trafy Cohort program, our Employability Index, and our startup-funding track.
• A cohort application process, currently collected via an online form, through which candidates apply for a seat in an upcoming cohort.
• An Employability Assessment platform, a free skills-assessment product where registered users attempt timed multiple-choice and coding (DSA) assessments across one or more tracks, receive a server-computed score, and may appear on a public leaderboard.

We may add, change, or discontinue features of the Services at any time, including the number of assessment tracks, questions, attempts allowed, or leaderboard behavior, without prior notice, though we will try to communicate material changes where reasonably possible.

04 Accounts & registration

• You must register with accurate, current and complete information and keep it up to date.
• You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account.
• You must notify us promptly of any unauthorized use of your account or any other breach of security.
• One account per person. Creating multiple accounts to obtain additional assessment attempts, inflate a leaderboard position, or otherwise circumvent these Terms is prohibited and may result in disqualification and account termination.

05 Cohort applications & admissions

• Submitting a cohort application is free and does not guarantee admission. Seats are limited and offered at Trafy's sole discretion based on the information you provide, your assessment performance (where applicable), and program capacity.
• We may contact you by email or phone using the details you provide to discuss your application, request additional information, or share admissions decisions.
• Program details described on this site — dates, curriculum, seat counts, grant figures, and outcomes from past cohorts — reflect our plans and historical results at the time of publishing and are provided for informational purposes; they do not constitute a guarantee of future results, funding, employment, or income for any participant.

06 Assessments, attempts & scoring

• Each assessment has a fixed duration and a maximum number of attempts (typically three); once time expires or your attempts are exhausted, that assessment closes and its best-scoring attempt stands.
• All scoring is performed server-side against the pinned question set assigned to your attempt. Correct answers are never transmitted to your browser, and the client-submitted score is never trusted — this is by design, to keep the leaderboard fair for every candidate.
• Coding (DSA) submissions are compiled and executed against a set of test cases using a third-party code execution service; partial credit may be awarded based on the proportion of test cases passed. Execution results depend on that third-party service being available; if it is temporarily unavailable, affected submissions may be marked accordingly and, where appropriate, re-evaluated.
• You are solely responsible for the answers and code you submit. Once an attempt is submitted, or time expires, it is final and cannot be reopened or rescored except at Trafy's discretion (for example, to correct a verified platform error).
• We reserve the right to invalidate, adjust or remove a score obtained through cheating, exploitation of a bug, automated tooling, or any other violation of these Terms.

07 Code submissions & acceptable use

When you submit code for a coding assessment, you agree that:

• Your submission is your own original work for that attempt, written to solve the stated problem.
• You will not submit code designed to attack, exploit, or degrade the code execution environment, the assessment platform, or any other user's attempt (including attempts to exfiltrate hidden test cases, escape a sandbox, perform denial-of-service, or access infrastructure you are not authorized to access).
• You will not use automated tools, bots, scrapers, or scripted submissions to attempt an assessment on your behalf.
• Grants you make to us over your submitted code are limited to what is described in Your content & license to us — we do not claim ownership of your original code.

08 Leaderboard & public display

Completing a scored assessment may place your best result on a public leaderboard visible to any visitor of the Assessment platform, showing your display name, country, university, chosen social/portfolio links, and score, as described in our Privacy Policy. By submitting an assessment, you consent to this public display. You may ask us to remove your entry from the public leaderboard at any time by contacting us; your underlying attempt history remains available to you and to cohort reviewers where relevant.

09 Intellectual property

The Services — including the Trafy name and logo, site design, question banks, curriculum materials, the Employability Index methodology, and all associated text, graphics and software — are owned by Trafy or our licensors and are protected by applicable intellectual property laws. We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to access and use the Services for your personal, non-commercial use in accordance with these Terms.

You may not copy, reproduce, redistribute, reverse-engineer, scrape, or create derivative works from the Services (including assessment questions, model answers, or the site's content) without our prior written consent, except as permitted by applicable law.

10 Your content & license to us

"User Content" means the information and materials you submit through the Services, including your profile details, assessment answers, and submitted code. You retain ownership of your User Content. By submitting it, you grant Trafy a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to host, store, process, display and use your User Content solely to operate, secure and improve the Services — for example, to score your attempt, display your leaderboard entry (where applicable), and review your cohort application. This license ends when the relevant User Content is deleted from our systems, except to the extent retained as permitted under our Privacy Policy or required by law.

11 Fees & payments

Applying to a Trafy cohort and using the Employability Assessment platform are free, with no application fee. If Trafy introduces any paid feature, tier, or program component in the future, the applicable pricing, billing terms and refund policy will be presented to you before you are charged, and your continued use of any paid feature will be subject to those additional terms.

12 Prohibited conduct

In addition to the restrictions above, you agree not to:

• Impersonate any person or entity, or misrepresent your affiliation with any person or entity, in your application or profile.
• Share your account credentials or allow another person to attempt an assessment using your account.
• Attempt to gain unauthorized access to any part of the Services, other users' accounts or data, or our underlying infrastructure.
• Interfere with or disrupt the integrity or performance of the Services, including through malware, excessive automated requests, or attempts to bypass rate limits or timers.
• Use the Services for any unlawful purpose or in violation of any applicable local, state, national or international law.
• Upload or submit content that is defamatory, obscene, infringing, or otherwise objectionable.

We reserve the right to investigate suspected violations and take appropriate action, including removing content, invalidating scores, suspending or terminating accounts, and reporting conduct to law enforcement where warranted.

13 Third-party services & links

The Services rely on and may link to third-party services, including Supabase (authentication and data storage), a third-party code execution provider, Vercel and Render (hosting), and Google Forms (application collection), as well as external links to social platforms and partner sites. We do not control these third parties and are not responsible for their content, availability, or practices. Your use of any third-party service is subject to that service's own terms and privacy policy.

14 Disclaimers

The Services are provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis, without warranties of any kind, whether express, implied, or statutory, including implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, title, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Services will be uninterrupted, error-free, secure, or free of viruses or other harmful components, or that any assessment score, ranking, admissions outcome, or program result (including job placement, funding, or income) will meet your expectations.

15 Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Trafy and its officers, employees, and affiliates will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for any loss of profits, revenue, data, goodwill, or other intangible losses, arising out of or related to your use of, or inability to use, the Services, even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages. To the extent permitted by law, our total aggregate liability for any claim arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Services will not exceed the greater of (a) the amount you paid us, if any, for the Services in the twelve months preceding the claim, or (b) INR 5,000.

Nothing in these Terms limits or excludes liability that cannot be limited or excluded under applicable law, such as liability for fraud or willful misconduct.

16 Indemnification

You agree to defend, indemnify and hold harmless Trafy and its officers, employees and affiliates from and against any claims, liabilities, damages, losses and expenses, including reasonable legal fees, arising out of or in any way connected with your access to or use of the Services, your User Content, or your violation of these Terms.

17 Suspension & termination

You may stop using the Services and request deletion of your account at any time by contacting us. We may suspend or terminate your access to the Services, in whole or in part, at any time, with or without notice, if we believe you have violated these Terms, posed a security or legal risk, or for any other reason at our reasonable discretion. Sections of these Terms that by their nature should survive termination — including Intellectual Property, Limitation of Liability, Indemnification, and Governing Law — will survive.

18 Governing law & disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of India, without regard to its conflict-of-law principles. Subject to applicable law, you agree that any dispute arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Services will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts located in India. Before initiating formal proceedings, we encourage you to first contact us so we can try to resolve the matter informally.

19 Changes to these terms

We may revise these Terms from time to time. We will post the updated Terms on this page with a revised "Last updated" date and, for material changes, provide additional notice where reasonably possible (such as an email or in-app notice). Your continued use of the Services after a revision takes effect constitutes your acceptance of the updated Terms. If you do not agree to the revised Terms, you must stop using the Services.
